tech5 – June 21, 2010

Dvorak mentions the XBox Connect and worries that it's going to shake your house, "a most unpleasant product".

No Agenda Entertainment Welcomed by Adam Curry

Just after our launch, Adam Curry welcomed our new site on this morning’s episode of No Agenda. Adam said it was a, “beautiful looking site and makes us look like a big multimedia conglomerate.” Dvorak replied “we should sell now!” Thanks for the mention guys, your show is why we made this!

Hotel del Coronado

Adam and Micky came here on a weekend getaway in June 2010. The Hotel del Coronado is a famous, picturesque hotel/resort located near San Diego, California. You might recognize it from the Marilyn Monroe movie, "Some Like It Hot".

Toy Story 3

Adam just checked out the new 3D version of Toy Story 3.

La Petit Four

Adam described this place as the Eurotrash restaurant on Sunset Blvd during episode #210.

Silicon Valley – North (Albany California)

Albany, California - usually referenced as "Silicon Valley North", is Dvorak's home when he's not up in Port Angeles, WA.

Buck’s

Buck's is a Silicon Valley institution where many a deal has been closed as well as many stomachs filled with hearty grub. Kitschy decor and memorabilia covers the walls and hangs from the ceilings.

tech5 - MSFT makes a comeback

Costco Wine Picks

Dvorak likes finding great deals at his local Richmond Costco. Here are two that he mentioned on TWiT #238 [March 7, 2010].

Shadow Masters

This investigation examines how behind-the-scenes collaboration between governments, intelligence services and drug traffickers has lined the pockets of big business and Western banks.

Chez Spencer

An innovative French restaurant located between SF's Mission and SOMA districts.

The Bilderburg Group

"If you want to know who really runs the world and the lengths to which they will go to establish their globalist hegemony, you must read Estulin's well-documented The True Story of The Bilderberg Group." —carolynbaker.net

Monterey Market

Several times, Dvorak has mentioned the bountiful produce at Berkeley's Monterey Market. It's a no-nonsense place that is packed inside and out with tons of fresh produce.

What Happened at the Bush White House

This book is now super cheap! With unprecedented candor, one of George W. Bush's closest aides takes readers behind the scenes of the Bush presidency, and what exactly happened to take it off course.

Philip Dru Administrator

An old pick from Dvorak. Philip Dru, the main character, is a West Point graduate who eventually resigns his post and becomes involved in social problems. Dru is chosen to lead an army against the U.S. government led by a puppet president.

Abbaye Ste Mére Cheese

This is one of Dvorak's 'Easter Egg' deals that he found at the Richmond Costco. He calls them Easter Eggs because they are rare finds of very high quality for a low price...

No Agenda Dining!

Back in the early days of No Agenda, one of my favorite topics was when John and Adam would discuss their Bay Area dining experiences. John has a vast knowledge of food and wine - he also is real good at finding what he calls 'Easter Egg' deals at the Richmond Costco.

Quince

Cool (in a weird way) French restaurant that John and Adam visited in Fall 2008.

Ridge Geyserville Zinfandel

Dvorak thought this was tasty wine. Fall, 2008.
