The Walk
Adam started talking about this new movie on Netflix/Amazon called The Wire about high-wire artist Philippe Petit’s death defying walk between the two towers of the World Trade Center in 1974. Actually the movie is called The Walk. There’s a documentary that came out in 2008 titled Man on the Wire.
Adam said it was interesting because in the 1970s this guy came to customs and had all these suitcases of gear and 300 feet of wire – he told the customs guy he was going to use the wire to walk between the two twin towers. Customs guy closed his suitcase and said ‘good luck!’. Now he’d be arrested! “This is what America used to be like!” exclaimed Adam.
