During a discussion on the rip off of recycled glass, Adam asked what is after air and water, what is the most voluminous, traded commodity in the world? The surprising answer was sand!

The number one consumer of sand is Dubai. It’s used for buildings and construction. There’s even smugglers and trade of sand. The regular sand in the desert isn’t suitable for building. Sand mining is so prevalent in the Maldives, it’s making the land disappear.
