Little Snitch or Lulu — Know When Software Is Phoning Home

Darren’s recommendation was blunt: “Everybody that runs a Mac should have Lulu or Little Snitch.” Both sit quietly in the background and flag the moment any app tries to reach the outside world — useful for catching software quietly shipping data to servers you never approved. Little Snitch is the long-running paid option; Lulu is a free, open-source alternative built to do the same core job.
