While discussing President Obama’s recent weightloss, it was postualted that perhaps he has a stomach parasite from eating sushi during his Hawaiian vacation. John C. Dvorak mentioned these creosote pills that are popular in Japan. After you take them, you belch smoke for a day! The pills are called Seirogan and they do indeed include creosote along with some other herbs. They are recommended for upset stomach, indigestion and other digestive ills.

Dvorak mentioned these pills again in NA 547. Evidently he took them mid-flight and the smoky smell sent the flight attendants scurrying!
