Influenced by “The Kid Stays in the Picture”
Adam is working on a memoir pulling together 20 years of stories from his own life, built in part by scanning through roughly 1,900 episodes of No Agenda transcripts to mine the anecdotes (the MTV Chronicles episode, #1902, was an early piece of that effort). He’s structuring the book in the mold of “The Kid Stays in the Picture” — Dana Brunetti’s favorite documentary, and by Dana’s own account the reason he became a producer in the first place. The idea: an audiobook-style narration from Adam himself, paired with archival photos and footage animated in a Ken Burns style, the same technique the Robert Evans documentary used.
Dana is helping shepherd the project, and the two have some good-natured “creative differences” — Dana wants to dial back how heavily the book leans into Adam’s faith angle to reach a wider audience, while Adam’s aiming in part for “the Christ-curious.” They’ve even joked about eventually doing the whole adaptation in AI, though Adam insists on narrating it in his own voice rather than an AI clone.
