Tip of the Day: ImgBurn
Remember how John Dvorak used to explain how he had dress shirts custom made with pockets large enough to hold a CD? Well, he apparently still burns disks and he recommends ImgBurn to do it.
John C Dvorak:
“It’s small, it’s effective, and it’s it’s for old media, and it’s called ImgBurn, and it’s for making DVDs and CDs and whatever disk you need… When you want to burn one, what are you going to use? You probably don’t have any CD burning software on your machine.”
Adam Curry: I do. I use truck driver… what’s it called…?
John C. Dvorak: ImgBurn. It’s simple, does the trick, and handles ISOs, CDs, and more.
You can go to Amazon and buy a cheap burner for 29 bucks. They’re USB drives that burn CDs, DVDs, and even Blu-rays. You can always archive some stuff. That’s my tip of the day, especially for the haters.
Adam Curry went on to snark that this was a worthwhile Tip of the Day, only this one’s for boomers who still use DVDs and Blu-ray.
[Update: Holy crap, thanks to BingIt.io, I found the show mention (show #1100] where JCD describes having his custom made shirts with pockets that can hold a CD. Originally, he had a shirt made to hold a 5″ floppy disk!]
