Tip of the Day: Convert Anything with Convert-Me.com

Hectares to Acres? Furlongs to Miles? John C. Dvorak gets the answer by pointing his Firefox browser to Convert-Me.com. Adam thinks the website looks like it’s from the 80s but it’s very useful!
John Dvorak: I have a rotation of what I do. And this is a website that is incredibly useful for anybody. It has, I don’t know, probably 50, maybe 60 different measurements that you can convert. It’s called convert-me.com. And you can convert anything to anything.
Adam Curry : Can we do dollars to Bitcoin?
John: They might – I mean, it’s possible. I haven’t gone through all the conversions. I’ve only used about 10 of them out of the 30 or 40 they have. Wire gauge conversions, which is new.
Adam: Ring sizes.
John: Ring sizes conversions. I don’t know what that even means. I guess there are different sizes around the world and that’s new. It’s mostly mass and weight and distance and length and capacity and volume and area and speed and temperature, you know? It’s a fabulously useful site.
Adam: It is! And I would say this is actually quite good for our No Agenda Knights and Dames, because I had no idea that ring sizes in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa differ from our ring sizes or the European standard sizes—which is ISO 8653:2016—and yet differs from Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Brazil, and India. And there are even old Brazilian ring sizes. This is a very interesting site.
Power, what’s the power conversion? Oh, from megawatts, gigawatt, calories… There you go. Let me see… can my gig…, how many calories are in—this doesn’t say. They got nicotine. Yeah, show me how much power is in some nicotine.
John: Nicotine?!
Adam: That’s an interesting site, John. It looks like it was made in 1980!
John: Yes, dated looking. It’s very old-fashioned. The fact that they have anything new is kind of a shocker.
