In a recent episode of CBS’ Madam Secretary the main protagonist of the show, US Secretary of State (played by Tea Leone) seeks advice on how to give a national speech on a recent disaster that occurred at the White House. Like a wise diplomat, she turns to her wise predecessors; Madeline Albright, Colin Powell and Hillary Clinton. What occurs is a terribly acted set of talking points against ‘nationalism’ and how it got us involved in two world wars. Adam and John couldn’t believe in the idiocy of this scene which Adam thinks could’ve been written by the Lear Family Foundation.
