John Dvorak has got a new way to make yams this Thanksgiving!
Adam asked John for his recipe for turkey, but John said he makes it differently each year, so he offered up this dynamite yam recipe which he got from Emeril Lagasse.
About 4 yams (poke some holes in the top with a fork)
Bake for an 1.5 hours at 375 until the skins get crispy.
John then grabs the bottom of the yam with his special heat resistant gloves and scoops the yam into bowl – should be soft enough to whisk.
1/2 cube european butter
heavy cream (about 1/2 cup)
Maker’s Mark Bourbon to taste
Little bit of real maple syrup
whip up with whisk – add a little more bourbon at the end!
